How to import a Google Sheet into Salesloft automatically
To keep Salesloft updated from a Google Sheet, share the sheet so it can be read, map its columns to Salesloft fields once, and import on a schedule. Each run should only touch rows that are new or have changed since the last one.
- The first row must be the column headers
- Match rows on something stable, such as email or LinkedIn URL, not names
- Import only new or changed rows, and keep each run undoable
When a sheet is the right source
Event lists, partner referrals, a researcher's target accounts, a form that writes to a sheet: anything a person or another tool keeps adding to. Uploading it again every week is slow, and re-importing everything risks overwriting good data.
Set it up
- Share the sheet. In Google Sheets, set Share → General access to "Anyone with the link" as Viewer, so it can be read without a Google sign-in. Keep personal data you don't need out of the sheet.
- Headers in row one. One column per field, with a clear name such as "Email" or "Account domain".
- Choose how rows match. Email, domain, CRM ID or LinkedIn URL. A row that matches more than one record should be skipped, not guessed.
- Choose per column whether the sheet overwrites Salesloft or only fills blanks.
- Pick a schedule: hourly or daily is plenty for most sheets.
Keep it safe
- Only new or changed rows go each run, so an unchanged row is never written twice.
- For a sheet other people edit, hold each run for review before it writes.
- Keep an undo for each run, in case someone pastes the wrong column.
Pulsar Import does this as a recurring import: paste the sheet's link, map the columns once, and it checks hourly or daily for new or changed rows. Each run is its own import, with a preview, results and a 30-day undo, written straight away or held until someone presses Start. It can also add people to a cadence in the same run.
