Finding the best time to call in Salesloft

Salesloft's analytics include a Best Time to Call chart showing when your team's calls have connected. To act on it call by call, work out a best time for each person, in their own timezone, from your call history, and put it on their record where reps and views can use it.

In short
  • The team view tells you when your team connects; a per-person time tells a rep when to call this person
  • Use the person's own timezone, not the rep's
  • With little history for one person, lean on their company's and your team's patterns

Start with the team view

Salesloft's Best Time to Call chart plots your historical calls by time slot: bigger bubbles are more calls, darker ones connect more often, and Salesloft suggests prioritising the large, dark ones (Salesloft community). It's a good way to plan calling blocks for the whole team.

Then go per person

A team pattern is an average. A finance director in Chicago and an SDR manager in Leeds don't pick up at the same hours. A per-person best time needs:

  • Their timezone. Work in the person's local time, from their record or their company's location.
  • A sensible window. A two-hour window and the best weekdays is specific enough to act on and stable enough to trust.
  • A fallback. Most people have only a few calls. Lean on their company's calls, then your team's, until there's enough history of their own.

Make it usable

A best time nobody sees changes nothing. Put it in a Salesloft field, so reps see it on the record and you can build a view sorted by it, for example "P1 numbers whose best window starts in the next hour".

Pulsar Connect works out each person's best two-hour window and weekdays in their own timezone, falls back on their company's and your team's calls when needed, and writes both to Salesloft fields every night. See Pulsar Connect
